Exclusive Private Wedding at Markree Castle
Photography by Studio Lordan
With rooms this ornate, the design was never about adding more. Instead, we took our cues from the house itself. Markreeβs deep patterned blue carpet could easily have been ignored in favour of white and green, but instead we brought that blue up onto the table, setting it against blush pink and fresh green to create a colour palette that felt completely at home in the space.
One long table followed the architecture through the interconnected rooms, creating a single continuous tablescape. Loose, garden-inspired flowers ran between tall blue taper candles, with layers of clear glass and delicate stationery keeping everything light and allowing the grandeur of the rooms to remain at the heart of the design.
Nothing was there to compete with the house. Every detail was chosen to feel as though it belonged: romantic and refined, but relaxed enough to soften the formality of the interiors.
