Their Very Own Castle for the Weekend
This celebration was the essence of generous, thoughtful hospitality: 28 guests with an Irish castle entirely to themselves for the weekend.
The intimacy of the wedding shaped how the wedding day moved. Rather than having staff usher everyone from one event to the next, Josh and Abbie led the way themselves. Josh walked their guests to the ceremony in Lismore Castleβs gardens; afterwards, the newlyweds led everyone back to the courtyard for cocktails. When dinner was ready, the party simply followed them into the dining hall, returning later to the courtyard for live traditional music and dancing.
That flow informed the design too. The gardens and courtyard were at their lushest in July, while the dining hall is wonderfully dramatic: deep red walls, stained glass and dark wood. Olive velvet linens and abundant florals carried the greenery and lightness of the outdoors inside. Red flowers connected the tablescape to the room itself, while pale pink napkins, candles, glass chargers and delicate lace details kept the overall feeling light and playful.
The result felt entirely at home in the castle, while still belonging to a beautiful summer day outside.
